Izara Arts is an income generation project located in Northern Thailand close to the Myanmar/Burma border, based on fair trade principles.  Our mission is to create village-based jobs for ethnic minority women so they can stay with their families instead of being forced to migrate to distant cities. We do this through the design and production of handicrafts. All profits from the venture are used to fund further community building programs.

What distinguishes Izara Arts is the way in which the cultural heritages of different tribes have been combined to create products which are striking as well as unique.

On this site, you can read about our Producer Partners, and the techniques that go into each piece.  You can also learn more about the ethnic minorities in northern Thailand, and find more details about all the Khom Loy projects.
